Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the website operates smoothly, efficiently, and securely. You will work on enhancing user experience, optimising SEO, and implementing innovative features to keep our site ahead of the curve.

Position: Freelance Drupal Developer
Location: Remote

Type: 2-3 hours per week (dependent on requirements). Could be more for ad hoc projects.

About Us:

https://www.spherelife.com/ is the digital platform connected to the luxury lifestyle magazine, SPHERE, owned by Illustrated London News Limited (ILN). We are luxury content marketing agency and publisher. Our platform is a destination for high quality content covering a range of topics, form luxury, travel, culture, food and drink etc. The site is managed by the content team who upload content (several articles each week) and we require a freelance drupal developer to maintain it.

Key Responsibilities

Regular Tasks:

  • Manage and update the Spherelife.com website and custom code from technical perspective to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Manage any third-party integrations
  • Identify, troubleshoot and fix performance, technical and hosting issues promptly
  • Add new features and sections as needed
  • Provide suggestions and implement strategies to improve SEO and site visibility
  • Manage redirects and ensure proper website navigation and structure
  • Testing and implementation for all of the above

Ad Hoc/Project Based Tasks:

  • Create new functionality as required
  • Redesign website interfaces to enhance usability and visual appeal
  • Adapt website structure to meet evolving needs
  • Develop and enforce website rules and guidelines to enhance site performance

What We’re Looking For:

  • Extensive experience as a Freelance Drupal Developer with a strong portfolio of completed projects
  • Proficiency in Drupal 9/10 (or newer) site building, module development, and theming
  • Proficient in creating custom themes and modules and front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive design principles and Drupal architecture skills
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and implementation within Drupal.
  • Experience with analytics tools and third-party integration tools, including eCRM
  • Flexibility for troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of managing and configuring hosting environments
  • Familiarity with website security and accessibility standards.
  • Experience with redesigning website interfaces and user experience optimisation
  • Knowledge of PHP and MySQL
  • WordPress Experience an advantage for our agency website (in addition)
